BCFrequencyCover.jpg(Washington, D.C.) - November 20, 2012 - Fans have been waiting with bated breath since the recent announcement of Byron Cage's new role as radio personality on Washington, D.C.'s Radio One's Praise 104.1FM (www.praisedc.com). The Gospel icon will be hitting the airwaves as the new host of Sunday Joy. Radio One will officially be welcoming the "Great And Mighty" singer to the radio network on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from noon to 4PM EST at a brunch at the Carlyle Club (411 John Carlyle Street, Alexandria, VA 22314). The GRAMMY Award Nominee will be broadcasting live from the venue on his first radio appearance in his new slot. Lovers of Cage's music will be able to meet the artist in person and the guest of honor will be singing some of his favorite songs.

The minister of music of Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, MD and St. Paul's Baptist Church in Richmond, VA, is known for hits like "The Presence of the Lord" and "I Will Bless The Lord". He recently dropped his ninth release, Memoirs of a Worshipper, featuring the Top Ten hit, "Great And Mighty". Cage talks about the new project in a cover story in the current edition of Frequency Inspirational Magazine. The singer will also be highlighted in the December issue of Christian Voice Magazine and was recently featured in BRE Magazine, the AFRO American Newspaper and on BET's Bobby Jones Gospel.

Byron Cage took time out recently to share his knowledge of the industry with the music students of Oxon Hill High School in Oxon Hill, MD. The school's choir, a 2009 Stellar Award Winner under the direction of Dr. Emory Andrews, got a chance to listen to the artist talk about his beginnings and the up and downs of the music industry. He also answered questions and took photos with the students.

Growing up in Grand Rapids, MI, Cage was mentored by the late Gospel great Thomas Whitfield. He burst on to the national gospel music scene with his debut CD, Live at New Birth, which spawned the hits, "Thou Art A Shield For Me: Psalm 3", "There Is A Name", and the now Gospel classic, "The Presence Of The Lord". Those hits were followed by "I Will Bless The Lord", "Broken But I'm Healed", "Faithful To Believe", "With All of My Might" and the current smash "Great And Mighty", from his recent release, Memoirs of a Worshipper.

Throughout his 25-year career, Cage has netted a GRAMMY Award Nomination, a Dove Award Nomination, two BET Award Nominations, two NAACP Award Nominations, a Soul Train Award, six Stellar Awards and many others. His riveting songs and dynamic presence have made him a staple in today's Gospel musical landscape. For more information on Byron Cage, log on to www.ByronCageOnline.com.
